Q: I have attended several summer camps like these. How this Gita camp will be different?

Without attending the camp, how will you know?
Each camp, each one’s experience will be different.
The benefit of the camp will be according to your mental attitude, your intellectual commitment, as well as with how much shraddha you attend the session, and the grace of the Lord.
The one difference we can point out is – the other camps are made for enjoyment, but this one made to discover your inner joy.

Q: I have to fight with my parents and teachers

I have to fight with my parents and teachers to come to this camp because of special classes and coaching classes. How much will it be worth to skip those regular school/college sessions to come to this camp? Whatever you may be studying, if you fall sick (like viral fever/ chikungunya) you will lose a week or two! A headache or a cold is sufficient to keep you on the bed for a day.
What will you do in those times? Your parents/teachers may be giving a lot of importance to the exam and marks. But after completing your education, or when you grow up, no one will ask you about your score or grade in the board exams. The company or the family only value your values – your honesty, discipline, knowledge, efficiency, ability to handle situations, love and care you show to others etc.
This camp is for to help you to set the real goal in life and to help you discover and develop the qualities necessary to achieve this. If you have imbibed the knowledge of the Gita you will be happy throughout life and you can achieve anything you want.
Without knowledge of the Gita, you may have everything you ever wanted, but you may not be able to enjoy life, be content, be peaceful and be happy. You decide what you want.

Q: Do I have to know Sanskrit?

Do I have to know Sanskrit to be able to understand the lessons in this camp? Not necessary. If you know, it will be an added advantage always. The focus is on the essence of Gita, its concept, the principle values and its practical relevances.
Your ability to question, enquire and explore are much appreciated. You can also take this camp as a personal challenge to develop these qualities.

Q: Do I have to have some knowledge of our culture to be able to attend this program?

It is not mandatory but some idea about Indian culture may help get one get quickly oriented to the camp. However, this camp is also a wonderful way for one to acquire a basic understanding of our culture. Stories of Mahabharata will be useful. It will be useful if you read these discussions before coming to the camp.
